Expectant Parent / Birth Parent
Q: What do I do now?
Breathe… and know you are not alone.
Q: If I choose Adoption Law Firm Anaheim California servicing all of California, who will adopt my baby?
You are entitled to obtain as much information (about the prospective adoptive parent) as you are allowed to personally choose who will adopt your baby.
Q: Is there any cost?
There should be no cost to you. Under California law you can legally receive financial support for adoption related expenses throughout your pregnancy (i.e. rent, food, medical, clothing…)
Q: Who can I talk to about placing my baby?
You may speak to an attorney confidentially and without cost, and be independently represented throughout the adoption process. As well, you may speak to the adoption agency about the adopting parent(s), their background and whether you desire to match with them. There are immediate answers to every question you may have.
Q: What if my baby may be at risk of going into foster care?
You have a right to place your child for adoption and avoid the foster care system altogether.
Q: Will I have contact with the adoptive parents I choose?
You are able to meet the adoptive parent(s) before you choose them and may have contact with them before birth.
Q: Will the child know about me as he/she grows up?
You may prepare information about yourself for the child to see as they grow. Adoptive parents will update you as the child grows, if you wish. The child will always know he/she is adopted and will know about you as they grow up, if you wish.
Q: Can anyone stop me from placing my baby for adoption?
No one can legally stop you from placing your child for adoption. If you are not married to the father, under California law, the “alleged father” generally cannot stop the adoption unless he demonstrates: He promptly came forward and demonstrated a full commitment to his parental responsibilities to mother and the unborn child, financially, emotionally and otherwise; he held himself out publicly as father, and; promptly filed necessary legal documents to become a legal father. In our experience, less than 5% of the alleged fathers legally object to an adoption.
Q: When is my baby placed with the adoptive parents?
The child is typically placed at birth in the hospital with the adoptive parents. The hospital placement is planned and designed by you and the adoptive parents.
Q: Do I have to attend court hearings?
You do not have to go to a social services office or to court to complete the adoption.
Q: What if the adoptive parents have other kids?
Studies show adopted children do as well or better than other children when placed with other children.
Q: Is there a background check for the adoptive parents?
Adoptive parents are home-studied, investigated and fingerprinted.
Q: I would like to keep my pregnancy private from my family members and friends. Is that possible?
You have the right to keep your pregnancy private. Independent and Agency Adoptions are private and the cases are sealed from the public.
Q: What if I am scared and feeling depressed?

All of the expectant parents that come to us are met with dignity, respect, and honor. You may be going through a crisis or an unimaginably difficult time in your life, but would still like for your child to live a full and abundant life. If this resonates with you, it would be our privilege to meet with you. Adoption is not a shameful choice. On the contrary! It is an incredibly brave choice made with love and sacrifice, and is not a process you should have to go through alone.
You can meet with a member of our team for a confidential consultation where you will learn about our ethical adoption. We will advocate for you and your child with the guarantee to restore a generational line and provide your child with a stable and loving home. We take our commitment very seriously and aim to give you peace of mind and support during the entire process. Private infant adoption empowers you as the birth parent to choose the home you want your child to be raised in. This includes the parents, if the family already has other children or not, and even the region. Birth parents have the power to choose the home the child lives in which means that you will be providing your child with the best future you know how to give your child.
Our consultation at Adoption Law Firm Anaheim California servicing all of California will allow you to ask all of your questions and give us the opportunity to ease your concerns and present you with a measurable plan. The support that the expectant parents and birth parents receive makes adoption a wonderful route to consider. As the birth parent, you will be setting up your child for success and providing them with a bright future as well as providing a loving family with a beautiful child to care for.
Choosing adoption does not mean that you are giving up on your child. It is the decision of a brave parent to provide their child with a stable home with the help of a family who has been called to love and care for a child they may not be able to have on their own. When you are matched with an adoptive family, you will be in complete control of the amount of contact you would like to have with the family and how involved you would like to be in the child’s life. It is a collaborative effort to provide your child with love and stability. Choosing adoption is sparking a generational impact that is ignited by your selfless decision. You will not only be impacting the trajectory of your child’s life, but will also be a true hero for a wholesome family waiting for the gift of a child like yours.
Here at Adoption Law Firm Anaheim California servicing all of California, we provide knowledgeable and ethical services that will give you the confidence in knowing that you are doing the best for your child. Our mission is to restore generational lines through adoption and allow the child to accomplish their dreams and what they believe they’re made and created to be. Giving your child this opportunity is invaluable and something we strive to facilitate in the most organic and supportive way possible.
Placing your child with a home does not mean the end of a chapter for you or your child. You can remain in contact with your child and the adoptive family they were placed with so that you will know how your child is progressing in their life. You and your family can remain involved in their lives if that is something that you are interested in and decide with the family. It is customizable which means that your child is not losing a family, but gaining one. The adoption process facilitated by Adoption Law Firm Anaheim California servicing all of California will provide your child with an abundant amount of love and support.
